Would you have ever expected that OnePlus would decide (again, since in its beginnings it already did) to adopt the OPPO user interface? Yet this is exactly what happened: after the merger of the research and development divisions, companies now also share the same software interface. OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are in fact official with the ColorOS 11 and they are the first devices of the brand that have it pre-installed.
Warning: the change only affects the China; but it is still an important turning point, if we consider that now there are two brands with the same software interface and this could lead to important improvements in development.
OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have also arrived on the European and Italian market, but here the Android 11 operating system pre-installed on the new duo is customized by OXYGEN. Both smartphones are top of the range and their prices for the European market start at 699 euros. Let's find out the technical specifications.
OnePlus 9 Pro

The OnePlus 9 Pro spec sheet includes a AMOLED LTPO display 6,7-inch capable of consuming up to 50% less with its adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It is nicknamed Fluid Display 2.0 and has a 10-bit color depth, a Quad HD + resolution, a brightness up to 1300 nits and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The screen has already received an A + rating from DisplayMate.
A processor is located under the body Snapdragon 888 paired with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory. The killer feature is definitely the Hasselblad camera, born from a $ 150 million partnership with the company that made the cameras for Apollo 11 used to immortalize a mission to the Moon.
On the back there are 4 cameras: the main one is a 789 MP Sony IMX48 with DOL-HDR, OCL 2 × 2, OIS and the ability to shoot in 12-bit RAW format. The wide-angle sensor is a 766MP Sony IMX50 with a freeform lens. No periscope sensor but there is an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3,3x optical zoom. Finally we have a 2 MP depth sensor. There is a Hasselblad Pro mode in the software to calibrate photos and make them look more natural.
The smartphone can record videos in 8K at 30 fps and in 4K at 120 fps. In the display there is a hole with a 16 MP front camera. The battery is from 4500 mAh with 65W Warp Charge 65T fast charge and 50W Warp Charge 50 Wireless wireless charging. OnePlus 9 Pro is waterproof with IP68 certification and is made with glass body and metal profile.

The standard variant of the OnePlus 9 series differs from the Pro version in several points including the . The AMOLED panel is 6,55 inches with a non-adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, Full HD + resolution, HDR10 + certification and brightness up to 1100 nits. Although the lower specs it still got an A + from DisplayMate.
The photographic sector also changes: the camera it is always made in collaboration with Hasselblad but with a different sensor. The main one is a 689MP Sony IMX48 with 2x2 OCL, HDR and 12-bit RAW support. There is the Hasselblad Pro mode and the Sony IMX766 50MP wide-angle sensor and the 2MP depth sensor also remain, however the telephoto lens is missing.
Prices and availability
In Europe, the OnePlus 9 has a base price of 719 € for the 8/128 GB version, which rises to 819 euros for the 12/256 GB configuration. The colors to choose from are Arctic Sky, Morning Mist, Winter Mist and Astral Black. OnePlus 9 Pro instead starts from 919 € for the 8/128 GB version and costs 999 euros in the 12/256 GB version, with availability in the Morning Mist, Stellar Black and Pine Green colors.
Both smartphones are already in pre-order on the official website and on Amazon. Along with smartphones it was also launched in Europe Oneplus watch, the brand's first smartwatch that incorporates the design of Oppo Watch RX (but does not have Wear OS), proposed in Italy at 159 euros. Finally, OnePlus 9R debuted in India, a cheaper variant with Snapdragon 870, which will remain an exclusive for the Asian market.
