Did you have doubts about OPPO's rise on the global smartphone market? The latest report published by Digitimes will take them all away from you. After a market research, Digitimes Research has come to make predictions about the evolution of the smartphone market during 2021, speaking of important changes even in the top 5 of manufacturers. According to the published report, after three years of decline, the sector will start growing again in 2021.
The report says that as we accelerate 5G commercial activity and build the necessary infrastructure around the world, we will see double-digit growth, and the leading shipments will be those of entry-level 4G and 5G devices in emerging markets which will reach 1,5 billion units shipped in 2023 and 1,3 billion in 2025. There will also be changes on the podium of the producers' ranking: in first and second place they will always remain Samsung and Apple, while the new entry will be OPPO which will conquer the third place ousting Huawei from the podium.
The top 5 would be completed with Vivo and Xiaomi, while in sixth place the arrival of Transsion, which produces Tecno, Itel and Infinix brand devices in the Asian and African markets. Excluding Samsung and Apple, those mentioned are all Chinese companies in strong growth: the only Chinese for which the future is not rosy is Huawei, due to the ban imposed by the USA after the accusations of espionage on behalf of the Chinese government. In the meantime, OPPO continues to expand and to collect acclaim also in Italy and its journey continues: from 15 October the new one will be available for purchase Reno4 series.
