OPPO has partnered with two of the largest 5G giants in order to improve connectivity to fifth generation networks in Europe. We are talking about MediaTek and Ericsson, with which the Chinese giant has worked hard with excellent results. The three companies have in fact managed to enable the 5G Carrier Aggregation and technology FROM NO.
Carrier Aggregation is a technique used in wireless communication to increase the speed of the data connection per user by assigning multiple frequency blocks to the same user. OPPO, MediaTek and Ericsson managed to get the CA in both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) network architecture between frequency division duplexes (FDD) low bandwidth (used simultaneously with 4G LTE and in conjunction with DSS technology) and time division duplex (T) to medium band.
The aggregation of FDD and TDD will allow the extension of the coverage with the higher speeds of the TDD band and the increase of the network capacity. VoNR technology represents instead an evolution of VoLTE, is a further step towards the migration to standalone 5G systems because it replaces a technology based on 4G, and will allow the introduction on the market of new services.
The use of the new networks with these new technologies will allow everyone to have a low latency and greater reliability of the network necessary for the development of IoT systems of the next generation. The milestones were achieved by OPPO, Ericsson and MediaTek on Swisscom's commercial 5G network and with Ericsson's infrastructure. The smartphone used is OPPO Reno4Z 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 800, but tests were also conducted with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor.
