While other manufacturers try to insert ever larger batteries on their new smartphones often creating real bricks, OPPO always pays close attention to the design and tries to create devices with reduced thickness while inserting durable batteries, focusing on software optimization. The company officially announced OPPO F17 and F17 Pro that embody this philosophy and are in fact the thinnest smartphones of 2020.
The two devices have a thickness of respectively 7,45 and 7,48 mm: there is no thinnest cell phone released this year. Nonetheless, they are equipped with 4000 and 4015 mAh respectively, whose capacity and autonomy are satisfactory and thanks to the VOOC fast charge at 30W they are also able to charge quickly. OPPO F17 and F17 Pro have display from 6,44 inch AMOLED with Full HD + resolution and punch-hole design.
The standard variant has a Snapdragon 662 processor, a RAM of 4, 6 or 8 GB and a memory of 64 or 128 GB depending on the configuration. On the back it has a quad camera of 16, 8, 2 and 2 Megapixel wide-angle, while on the front it has only one of 16 MP. The dimensions are 159,8 x 72,8 x 7,45 mm for a weight of only 163 grams.
OPPO F17 Pro differs from the standard version first of all for the processor, which is a MediaTek Helio P95 supported by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. It has a quad rear camera of 48, 8, 2 and 2 MP and a dual front camera of 16 and 2 MP. The measurements are 160,14 x 73,7 x 7,48 mm, for a weight of 164 grams. Both devices run Android 10 and ColorOS 7.2. Smartphones have been launched on the Indian market: the price amounts to approx €263 (22.990 rupees) for the Pro variant, while for the standard one has yet to be revealed.
