OPPO shows its news for 5G and IoT at MWC 2021 in Shanghai

di Michael Frosty

Il 5G e the IoT ecosystem were two of the cornerstones of the presence of OPPO al MWC 2021 of Shanghai. The company explained at the prestigious Chinese fair that the high connection speed and low latency of 5G networks play a fundamental role in the Internet of Things sector because they make instant communication between the various connected objects possible.

To fully exploit the potential of 5G in the smart home, OPPO has created the 5G CPE Omni: a hub that supports inserting a 5G SIM card and converts XNUMXth generation networks into a stable WiFi connection. This will allow you to take advantage of the benefits of the new connectivity at home, in the office and also in public spaces. What are the benefits? OPPO has listed them in detail to dispel any doubts.

  • Unlimited gaming: thanks to cloud gaming, 5G will allow you to play without even owning a console or limited hardware, taking advantage of high levels of definition and excellent color reproduction thanks to the great connection speed.
  • Intelligent energy management: instant access to connected objects from the smartphone will allow them to be controlled and monitored in any place.
  • Video conferencing: With current connections it is not always possible to make trouble-free video calls. With 5G, however, there will be no connection interruption and no lag, even in 4K.
  • No bandwidth limit: even in crowded places you won't have to worry about limited bandwidth, because there will be enough for everyone.
  • Work anywhere: it will be easy thanks to 5G to download even more GB of files to work in any place.

OPPO 5G CPE Omni is equipped with the 8 antenna system O-Reserve that exploit the frequency spectrum below 6 GHz by automatically choosing 4 antennas at a time to obtain the most stable signal. In addition, the O-Motion antenna can rotate 360 degrees and support the technology mmWave thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon X5 55G modem.

Ericsson recently tested the hub with millimeter waves and achieved download speeds of well 4,06 Gbps. To touch the potential of 5G first hand, at the OPPO stand open until February 25 at MWC 2021 in Shanghai it is possible to test futuristic systems for augmented reality and gaming.
