The launch event of Realme 8 and 8 5G on the global market. The two smartphones have just been launched in India and the manufacturer has announced that they will arrive in Europe in May, both with prices starting from 199 euros and according to the CEO also with an introductory offer. This year, at least for the 5G variant, the company has decided to lower the bar and has done so by opting for specifications of a slightly lower level in order to offer the smartphone at a cheaper price. But let's find out the features of both versions.
Realm 8
The standard variant, which is also the one with the most whimsical design due to a section with rainbows reflections and the slogan Dare to Leap printed in large letters, was announced in the colors Cyber Black, Cyber Blue and Punk Black (the third without the slogan ).
Among its features we find a Super AMOLED display from 6,4 inch with a Full HD + resolution, fingerprint sensor integrated into the screen and a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz. The processor is a MediaTek Helio G95 (the same as Realm 7 that we reviewed some time ago) and works with 4/128 GB, 6/128 GB, and 8/128 GB memory configurations.
On the back the device has a quad camera of 64 + 8 + 2 + 2 MP, while on the front it has a 16 MP sensor. The battery is from 5000 mAh with fast charging at 30W and the operating system installed is Android 11. Among the peculiarities we also find the Hi-Res audio, a liquid cooling system and an assistant for games.

The 5G version is one of the cheapest smartphones to be launched in Europe this year with support for fifth generation networks. Realme 8 5G mounts a IPS display from 6,5 inches with Full HD + resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. Under the chassis has a processor MediaTek Dimensity 700 paired with 4/128 GB and 8/128 GB memory configurations with micro SD slot.
It features a side fingerprint reader, a 48 + 2 + 2 Megapixel triple rear camera and a 16 Megapixel front camera. The battery is from 5000 mAh and the operating system is Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0. Which of the two smartphones would you choose for the same price?
